We are delighted to be partnering with a growing, boutique accounting and financial reporting firm based in Theale, Berkshire. The firm is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Manager to join its talented and expanding team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious accountant with a strong technical background, ideally gained within a Top 20 accountancy practice. The role would suit someone who enjoys the challenge and variety of financial reporting work and is now looking to take on an interesting, client-focused position within a collaborative and fast-growing specialist firm.



The Company

Our client works with a diverse range of businesses, from fast-growing private equity-backed organisations to listed companies and large multinational groups.

The specialist team supports clients with complex challenges across financial reporting, financial modelling and financial operations. Working collaboratively with clients, the firm becomes an extension of their finance teams, providing hands-on technical expertise and support during periods of significant change, growth and pressure.



The Role

As Financial Reporting Manager, you will work across a broad and technically challenging portfolio of client projects. You will build strong, sustainable client relationships while taking responsibility for delivering high-quality work and supporting the development of more junior members of the team.

Projects may include:

  • Preparation of listed company financial statements

  • Consolidation reviews and rebuilds

  • Complex financial reporting and accounting projects

  • Technical accounting analysis and documentation

You will work closely with the Business Directors and senior engagement team, taking ownership of more complex assignments. The role will offer significant autonomy, with the opportunity to contribute to the continued development and growth of the business.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied portfolio of financial reporting projects from planning through to completion

  • Deliver high-quality financial reporting solutions to clients

  • Lead on complex and judgemental areas of client work

  • Support Business Directors and senior engagement teams across client engagements

  • Coach, mentor and delegate effectively to trainees and junior members of the team

  • Review work and provide constructive feedback to support the development of others

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, working practices and client delivery

  • Take ownership of ongoing professional development and contribute to the future growth of the firm



About You

You will be a technically minded and commercially aware qualified accountant who enjoys solving complex problems and working closely with clients.

  • ACA or ACCA Qualifed

  • Strong practical experience of IFRS, FRS102 and UK GAAP reporting frameworks

  • Previous experience gained within a Top 20 accountancy practice would be advantageous

  • Experience of managing client projects from planning through to successful completion

  • Strong financial reporting knowledge

  • A proven ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues

  • Experience of coaching, developing and delegating work to junior team members

  • The confidence to challenge existing approaches and contribute new ideas

  • A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
