We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Service Engineer to join a dedicated team covering the York area. About the Role As a Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, fault-finding, and repairing a range of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems across commercial and industrial sites.

You will play a key role in ensuring clients' systems remain compliant, operational, and fit for purpose while delivering exceptional levels of customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on fire alarm and emergency lighting systems
  • Respond to service call-outs, diagnose faults, and complete repairs efficiently
  • Conduct system testing, inspections, and remedial works in line with industry standards
  • Complete and maintain accurate service reports, risk assessments, and associated documentation
  • Provide technical advice and recommendations to customers where required
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Support audits, inspections, and accreditation activities as required
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle stock levels
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For:

Essential:
  • Proven experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems
  • Experience with emergency lighting systems
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Good knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Excellent customer-facing and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
  • Experience servicing and maintaining CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems
  • Installation and commissioning experience across fire and security systems
