Role Overview

This is a dedicated fire door surveyor role supporting a long‑term contract with Bradford Teaching Hospitals. As a fire door surveyor, you will carry out detailed fire door surveys across six hospital sites as part of a rolling compliance programme. No installation work is required the focus is purely on inspection, assessment, and reporting to ensure the estate remains compliant with fire safety regulations.

About You

As an experienced fire door surveyor, you will possess a blend of strong technical knowledge, regulatory understanding, and practical inspection skills with the ability to assess fire doors against UK standards, identify defects, and produce compliant documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough surveys of existing fire doors, assessing condition, compliance, and performance.
  • Record non‑compliances, wear, damage, and any issues affecting certification or functionality.
  • Produce accurate, structured survey reports for the estates and compliance teams.
  • Work through a planned, ongoing inspection schedule across all BTH sites.
  • Liaise with hospital estates staff, contract managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure all surveys align with current fire safety legislation and industry standards.

Desirable Experience

  • Site supervision background — Advantageous but not essential; helpful for coordinating access and working on large estates.
  • Experience working in hospitals, public buildings, or other live operational environments.
  • Strong understanding of fire safety compliance frameworks and certification requirements.
