Conrad Consulting is working with a growing multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy to recruit an experienced Fire Engineer to join their expanding Building & Fire Safety team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Fire Engineer / Fire Safety Engineer looking to take technical ownership of complex projects, work directly with clients and play a key role in developing a growing fire engineering service.
The RoleYou will provide specialist fire engineering advice across a range of complex and higher-risk buildings, working alongside Building Surveyors, Project Managers, Cost Consultants and Principal Designers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the preparation and review of fire strategies and fire engineering reports.
- Providing technical advice on Building Regulations, UK fire safety legislation and BS guidance.
- Supporting projects through the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) Gateway process.
- Working on high-rise, complex buildings and external wall remediation projects.
- Leading fire safety investigations, risk assessments and corrective actions.
- Acting as a senior technical point of contact for clients and project teams.
- Supporting fee proposals, business development and client relationship management.
- Mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to technical standards and CPD.
You should have:
- 3+ years' UK fire engineering consultancy experience.
- A degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- CEng/IEng status through the IFE or equivalent.
- MIFireE/FIFireE would be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and UK fire safety legislation.
- Experience with BSR Gateway requirements and the Building Safety Act.
- Experience working on high-rise or complex buildings.
- Knowledge of external wall remediation and Golden Thread requirements.
- Excellent communication, report writing and client management skills.
- The confidence to take ownership of projects and provide professional technical judgement.
- £55,000 - £65,000 salary
