Fire & Security Engineer - £36k-£45k in Clerkenwell

Fire & Security Engineer, London 

We are working with an established and growing fire and security business that is looking to strengthen its engineering team across Worcestershire.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys service and maintenance, takes pride in solving technical challenges and values building good relationships with customers.

You will be joining a business that recognises the importance of its engineers and provides the structure, equipment and support needed to deliver a professional service.

The role

You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and repair of fire and electronic security systems across customer sites.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Planned servicing and maintenance of fire alarm and security systems.

• Diagnosing and resolving faults across CCTV, intruder alarms and access control systems.

• Carrying out repairs and smaller installation works.

• Responding to reactive call-outs.

• Providing technical support and advice to customers.

• Completing accurate service reports and technical documentation.

• Ensuring systems are maintained in line with relevant industry regulations and standards.

• Working closely with the wider service team to ensure jobs are completed efficiently.

• Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota.

What we are looking for

We are keen to speak with engineers who have:

• Previous experience working within fire and security engineering.

• Strong hands-on servicing and maintenance experience.

• Knowledge of fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms and access control.

• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

• Experience working independently across customer sites.

• A good understanding of relevant fire and security regulations.

• A reliable and professional approach to their work.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• A full UK driving licence.

Industry qualifications such as FIA or City & Guilds would be advantageous.

Knowledge of BS 5839, NSI, BAFE and IP-based security systems would also be beneficial.

An 18th Edition qualification would be desirable but is not essential.
