Search Consultancy is recruiting an experienced Fire Stopper for a large-scale commercial development in Middlesbrough. Offering a competitive £22.00 per hour (CIS) rate, this role provides excellent site continuity for a specialist dedicated to high-standard passive fire protection installations.

If you hold a valid NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection (Blue CSCS), have proven commercial site experience, and want steady weekly earnings with a leading main contractor, we want to hear from you.

Working closely with site management and compliance inspectors, you will be responsible for installing certified passive fire stopping systems to strict structural and safety specifications:

• Penetration Seals: Installing bat and board systems, fire-rated mortars, mastics, and ablative coatings around MEP services, pipework, cables, and ductwork penetrations.

• Structural Protection: Sealing linear gaps, movement joints, and cavity barriers within fire-rated walls, floors, and structural slab edges using approved products (e.g., Nullifire, Rockwool, Quelfire).

• Quality & Digital Logging: Ensuring all penetration seals comply fully with manufacturer installation guidelines and logging installed works via digital compliance software (e.g., Field View, PinPoint, Bolster).

• Prep & Substrate Care: Properly cleaning, priming, and preparing substrates prior to sealant and batt installation to ensure total adhesion and fire integrity.

• Site Safety Compliance: Adhering strictly to site health and safety standards, working cleanly, and safely handling materials across a busy commercial project.

To satisfy commercial site access rules and fire safety regulations, applicants must possess:

• CSCS Card: A valid Blue CSCS Card (NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection) is strictly mandatory.

• Trade Background: Proven, hands-on experience as a Fire Stopper on commercial or high-rise construction developments.

• Tools & Kit: Full set of professional fire stopping hand tools, sealant guns, battery-powered tools, and standard 5-point PPE.

• Transport: Reliable transport to reach the commercial site in Middlesbrough daily.

• Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK.

• Top Market Rate: Strong pay rate of £22.00 per hour paid under CIS.
