Personnel Selection are recruiting for permanent On-Site Installations Operatives of pool liners and associated Spa equipment. You will be joining a prestigious, busy, experienced and growing on-site lining team. This is a practical, hands-on, field-based role working across the UK to install high-quality vinyl liners into swimming pools during the construction phase. Base salary is £27101 but realistic overtime earnings bring the salary to £31901.

You will be based in Andover, Hampshire, and will travel nationwide to customer sites as part of a two-person on-site lining team. The role requires flexibility, particularly during the busy Spring and Summer seasons, when regular overnight stays and longer working days will be required. This role would not suit someone who needs to be back for regular certain times of the day as the hours can vary in busy season. Our client does however try to start very early and finish at normal times as best possible and they try to avoid weekend work but there may be the odd occasion where this would be required.
Previous experience in swimming pool installation, on-site lining or vinyl fitting would be highly advantageous. However, applications are also welcomed from candidates with hands-on trade backgrounds such as construction, laminate or vinyl laying, rubber roofing, welding, fitting or similar practical work involving tools, materials, measuring, cutting and installation.
You will receive full one-to-one training from experienced colleagues who will support your development and help you build confidence quickly in the role. This is a strong opportunity for someone with the right practical background and attitude to develop specialist skills within the swimming pool industry.
THE ROLE
As an On-Site Lining Operative, you will work closely with an experienced colleague to deliver high-quality swimming pool lining installations to precise specifications. The work is practical, varied and customer-facing, requiring strong attention to detail, a tidy approach and the ability to maintain excellent workmanship while meeting deadlines.
- Handling, measuring and cutting vinyl liners accurately.
- Heat welding and joining vinyl using hand-held heat guns and heat sealing equipment.
- Working with glues, resins and specialist installation materials.
- Ensuring a high-quality, visually impressive finished product.
- Working as part of a two-person on-site lining team.
- Observing health and safety requirements at all times.
- Keeping work areas tidy, organised and professional.
- Completing work to deadlines while maintaining excellent standards.
- Assisting with measuring up on-site for quotations.
- Field-based role travelling across the UK from Andover, Hampshire.
- Long days and flexibility with working hours will be required.
- Regular overnight stays will be necessary, particularly during busier periods.
- Accommodation and evening meals are covered under the expenses policy.
- During quiet seasons in the later winter months, assisting within the yard / warehouse.
SKILLS T BE CONSIDERED:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Previous hands-on or practical experience, ideally in construction, trades, fitting, vinyl, laminate, roofing, welding or similar.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Confident with measurements.
- Comfortable working with vinyl, glues, resins and heat-sealing equipment.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Well-presented, confident and articulate, as you will be the face of the company when speaking with customers on site and people at all levels.
- Practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
- Flexible attitude to working hours, including long days when required.
- Willingness to travel nationwide, including regular overnight stays.
- Comfortable with elements of heavy lifting, kneeling and bending.
- Happy to work outside in all weathers.
- Able to work to tight deadlines while maintaining high standards.
