Fleet Maintenance Controller

Job Duties Include:
- Authorise maintenance and repair work promptly, ensuring accuracy and cost control.
- Support customers and drivers with SMR queries in a helpful, friendly and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate customer and vehicle records, ensuring all data is current and compliant.
- Manage service recalls and MOT reminders within company guidelines.
- Process maintenance and repair invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Use your technical knowledge to assess repair requirements and make informed decisions regarding maintenance and repair work.
- Stay up to date with technical bulletins and industry developments to support effective decision-making.
- Liaise with customers, drivers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure maintenance issues are resolved efficiently.
- Monitor maintenance activity and spend, ensuring costs remain controlled and within company guidelines.
- Maintain clear and accurate records throughout the maintenance process.
- Support the wider fleet and maintenance team as required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience within an automotive maintenance, fleet or vehicle-related environment.
- Strong automotive technical knowledge and understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers, drivers, suppliers and colleagues.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and make sound, confident decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a practical and proactive approach.
- Good understanding of maintenance costs and the importance of cost control.
- Confident using IT systems and maintaining accurate records.
- Professional, customer-focused approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
