We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fleet Manager to join our client on a temporary, ongoing basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the fleet, ensuring vehicles are safe, compliant, well maintained and available when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation and administration of the company fleet.
- Oversee vehicle servicing, maintenance, repairs, inspections and MOTs.
- Ensure all vehicles remain compliant with relevant legislation and company policies.
- Monitor fleet performance, availability and operational costs.
- Manage relationships with garages, suppliers, leasing companies and other external providers.
- Maintain accurate fleet records and documentation.
- Coordinate vehicle allocation, replacements and off-road vehicles.
- Deal with vehicle breakdowns, accidents and other fleet-related issues.
- Monitor driver compliance and ensure vehicles are being used appropriately.
- Identify opportunities to improve fleet efficiency and reduce costs.
- Provide regular updates and reports on fleet performance and issues.
About You
- Previous Fleet Manager experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of fleet operations, vehicle maintenance and compliance.
- Excellent organisational and administration skills.
- Confident managing multiple priorities in a busy environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-management skills.
- Good attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of fleet-related issues.
- Experience within construction, property services, facilities management or a similar operational environment would be advantageous.
