Role: FLT Driver (Forklift Truck Operator)

Key responsibilities:

  • Operate counterbalance, reach, or warehouse forklifts safely
  • Load and unload lorries, containers, and delivery vehicles
  • Move pallets and stock within the warehouse or yard
  • Store goods in racking systems at height (if reach truck trained)
  • Carry out basic equipment checks before and after use
  • Follow health & safety procedures (H&S, PPE rules, site regulations)
  • Assist with general warehouse duties (picking, packing, stock control)


Requirements:

  • Valid FLT licence/certification (e.g. RTITB, ITSSAR, or equivalent)
  • Experience operating forklifts (preferred but not always required)
  • Good awareness of health & safety standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic numeracy and literacy (for stock records)
  • Physically fit (some manual handling involved)


Types of FLT licences:

  • Blue CPCS / NPORS
  • Full driving licence
