We are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative / Counterbalance Driver on behalf of a well-established builders merchant in Nottingham.
This is a hands-on role, with approximately 80% of your time spent working within the yard and 20% operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck. The successful candidate will have previous experience within a builders merchant environment and be confident handling a range of building materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading customer and supplier vehicles.
- Picking and preparing orders accurately for collection and delivery.
- Serving trade and retail customers in the yard.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment.
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently.
- Assisting with stock control and stock movements.
- Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Supporting colleagues across the branch as required.
- Previous experience working within a Builders Merchant is essential.
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck (CBT) qualification/licence.
- Good knowledge of building materials and products.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy yard environment.
- Reliable, hardworking and safety conscious.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- £13.00 per hour.
