Are you an organised, enthusiastic, and proactive individual with a passion for supporting food and DT education? We are seeking a dedicated Secondary Food and DT Technician to join an Outstanding school in Chesterfield with an immediate start.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a thriving DT department, providing vital technical support to teachers and helping to create engaging, practical learning experiences for students. For the right candidate, there is the opportunity for this role to become permanent.

The Role

As a Science Technician, you will:

  • Prepare, set up, and clear away equipment and materials for practical Food and DT lessons.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure resources are organised and readily available.
  • Support the safe and effective delivery of practical activities in DT and Food
  • Monitor stock levels and order equipment and consumables as required.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Can work independently as well as part of a busy team.
  • Has a commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety.
  • Has previous experience in a school environment (desirable but not essential).
  • Is reliable, flexible, and enthusiastic about supporting young people's education.
