Then get in touch! Kingston Barnes is recruiting for a Food Safety Quality Manager for our client in Portbury. Our client is the global leader in taste, nutrition and ingredient solutions, partnering with food, beverage and pharmaceutical manufacturers to create healthier, better-tasting and more sustainable products enjoyed by consumers worldwide.
The Role: You will be responsible to lead the site’s food safety and quality agenda, partnering with the Plant Manager and site leadership team. You’ll work closely with operations, engineering, and supply chain to embed a strong quality culture, drive continuous improvement, and ensure they consistently meet internal, customer, and regulatory requirements. This is a visible leadership role. Responsibilities include:
- Lead and improve food safety, quality and HACCP systems across the site.
- Maintain high standards of GMP, hygiene and factory compliance.
- Manage product quality controls, testing and product release processes.
- Lead customer, regulatory and third-party audits, ensuring actions are completed effectively.
- Investigate quality issues and customer complaints, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Produce regular quality reports and monitor performance trends.
- Support and develop quality awareness through training and coaching.
- Lead, motivate and develop the Quality team.
- Work closely with the site leadership team to deliver business objectives and KPIs.
- Identify and escalate food safety or quality risks and support incident management.
- Ensure customers receive accurate and timely information.
About you:
- Degree qualified in Science or engineering ideally combined with a diploma in OHS/Environmental/Sustainability
- Proven experience leading Food safety and Quality in a food manufacturing environment including HACCP, GMP, and hygiene programmes
- Comfortable in managing customer relationships
- Strong working knowledge of customer and third party standards and regulatory expectations, including leading audits
- A strong leader who can influence across functions and can build capability through coaching and training
- Excellent communication skills
- Skilled in developing standards and strategy, project and change management
- Experience of Interpreting and executing to international standards.
