We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and reliable Food Technician to join our Design & Technology/Food Technology department.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the delivery of practical Food Technology lessons across the school. You will work closely with teaching staff to ensure that ingredients, equipment and practical resources are prepared and ready for lessons, while maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a practical environment and would like to contribute to the learning and development of young people.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare ingredients, equipment and resources for practical Food Technology lessons.
- Support teachers during practical lessons and assist students where appropriate.
- Maintain clean, safe and well-organised food preparation and teaching areas.
- Ensure food hygiene, health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Monitor and maintain stocks of ingredients, equipment and consumables.
- Order and receive supplies within agreed budgets and procedures.
- Check, clean and safely store equipment and resources.
- Assist with the safe storage and disposal of food and materials.
- Support the department with practical demonstrations, displays and events where required.
- Report faulty or damaged equipment and help maintain appropriate records.
- Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

- Previous experience working in a school, catering or food technology environment would be advantageous, but full consideration will be given to candidates with relevant practical experience.
