Pertemps Education are working in partnership with a fantastic SEMH Secondary School in West Drayton to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Food Technology Teacher for a September start.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and well-resourced specialist setting, where you will have the chance to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The Role
- Teach Food Technology to secondary-aged students.
- Plan and deliver engaging, practical and differentiated lessons.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to develop confidence, independence and valuable life skills.
- Work closely with support staff and the wider school team to ensure every student reaches their full potential.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour while building positive relationships with students.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level.
- Confident managing behaviour and adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs.
- Passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
- Previous experience within an SEMH, SEND or alternative provision setting is desirable but not essential.
- A welcoming and supportive leadership team.
- Excellent classroom support from experienced Teaching Assistants.
- Well-equipped Food Technology facilities.
