Looking for a Food Technology teaching role in a supportive secondary school environment?
Smile Education is working with a welcoming secondary school in Soihull seeking a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join from September 2026. The successful candidate will teach Food Technology across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons that inspire students to develop their culinary skills, nutrition knowledge, and confidence in the kitchen.
This role would suit an experienced teacher, ECT, or a teacher returning to the classroom looking for a positive and supportive working environment.
🏫 The Role
- Teach Food Technology across KS3–KS4
- Deliver engaging practical and theory-based Food Technology lessons
- Develop students' understanding of nutrition, food preparation, hygiene, and healthy eating
- Support student progress and assessment through practical and written work
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and health and safety within the food technology classroom
- Work collaboratively within the wider Design & Technology department
- QTS / QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Excellent knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and kitchen health and safety
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and adaptable approach
