About the Role
Veritas Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Kirklees to recruit a Food Technology Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated practitioner to join a supportive Design & Technology department and make a positive impact on students' learning and engagement.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Inspire students to develop practical cooking skills, nutritional understanding, and creativity
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
- Maintain high standards of classroom management and behaviour
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including departmental planning and enrichment activities
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards within a practical classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for food education and nutrition
- Excellent classroom management skills
- A commitment to raising achievement and supporting student development
- A flexible and proactive approach to teaching and learning
Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply and will be supported within the role.
