Groundworks Foreman – Wolverhampton
Location: Wolverhampton
Start Date: Immediate
Duration: Long-term
Rate/Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Groundworks Foreman to join a busy project in Wolverhampton, with an immediate start available.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in groundworks and civils, with the ability to confidently manage site activities, coordinate labour and subcontractors, and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising groundworkers and subcontractors on site
- Managing day-to-day groundworks activities and coordinating labour
- Overseeing drainage, foundations, concrete, kerbing, roads and associated civils works
- Reading and working from construction drawings and specifications
- Liaising with the Site Manager and wider site team
- Ensuring works are completed to programme and required quality standards
- Carrying out regular health & safety checks and ensuring site procedures are followed
- Managing plant, materials and deliveries as required
- Completing daily briefings and toolbox talks
- Monitoring productivity and maintaining a well-organised site
- Reporting progress, issues and any delays to the Site Manager
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Groundworks Foreman
- Strong groundworks / civil engineering background
- Good knowledge of drainage, foundations and general civils
- Strong health & safety awareness
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Relevant CSCS card
- SSSTS/SMSTS would be advantageous
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to start immediately
