Forestry Officer / Arboricultural Surveyor
Are you an experienced Forestry Officer / Arboricultural Surveyor who is able to to provide specialist arboricultural support across a range of tree management, development and infrastructure projects throughout a borough.
This is a part time role, 16 hours per week on a rolling 3 month contract paying £36ph Outside IR35!
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out tree condition inspections and risk assessments across the council's tree stock and woodland assets.
- Undertake BS5837 tree surveys in relation to development, demolition and construction projects.
- Produce arboricultural reports, recommendations and technical assessments.
- Provide specialist advice regarding tree retention, protection, management and removal.
- Support infrastructure, highways, planning and development projects by identifying potential impacts on trees and woodland areas.
- Respond to tree-related enquiries and service requests from members of the public and council departments.
- Assist with the management of both urban and rural tree populations.
Essential Requirements:
- Professional Tree Inspection (PTI) qualification or equivalent recognised tree inspection qualification.
- National Diploma in Arboriculture (NDip) or equivalent arboricultural qualification. Demonstrable experience undertaking BS5837 surveys and assessments.
- Strong understanding of arboricultural principles, tree risk management and tree inspection methodologies.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
