Forklift Operator (FLT)

Job Title : Material Specialist

Location: Caterpillar - Larne Site

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week. (Mon - Thurs)

Hours of work and salary:

• Day Shift: £14.27/hr.
• Night Shift: £19.03/hr.
• Overtime: £21.41/hr (First ten hours)
• Overtime: £28.54/hr. (After ten hours overtime)

• Operating forklift truck and other relevant equipment for onsite component/equipment movements.
• Loading boxes, crates, skids, frames etc. for waste disposal.
• Complete necessary paperwork relating to component equipment movements.
• Inspects, maintains and operates machinery within relevant company guidelines.
• Compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Compliance with 5S programme and other business improvement initiatives.
• Display behaviour and conduct fitting with our Values in Action.
• Train other employees if and when required.
• Any other appropriate duties.

Required Qualifications:

• The ability to follow and comprehend verbal, specific and detailed procedures and work instructions as well as basic arithmetic calculations in order to perform the duties described above.
• Good communication skills, experience working in a team environment
• Ability to work reasonable amounts of overtime and various shift patterns

Desired Qualifications:

• Forklift license.
• Reasonable level of computer literacy
• Previous experience working in a lean environment.
• Ability to prioritise and organise sequence of work on occasion.
