Location: Coventry
Salary: From £34,000 per annum - £40,000    depending on Experience
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Our client is a well established, material handling business providing a comprehensive range of forklift solutions, including hire, sales, servicing, repairs, breakdown support and parts. With a strong reputation for reliable customer service and highly trained engineers, they support businesses across the West Midlands and surrounding areas.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Forklift Service Engineer to join their team, covering customers across Coventry, Leicester, Northampton, Oxford and Derby.

Forklift experience is desirable, but candidates with relevant experience working on similar heavy machinery or material handling equipment will also be considered.

As a Forklift Service Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment at customer sites.

Forklift Service Engineer Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Carrying out planned servicing and routine maintenance on forklift trucks and associated equipment.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
  • Responding to customer breakdowns and carrying out effective fault-finding and repairs.
  • Replacing parts, making adjustments and ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
  • Using diagnostic equipment, hand tools and power tools to identify and resolve faults.
  • Reading and working from technical manuals, diagrams and service documentation.
  • Completing accurate service and maintenance records.
  • Following manufacturer guidelines, health & safety procedures and relevant regulations.
  • Providing technical support and advice to customers where required.
  • Maintaining a professional relationship with customers and representing the company positively.
  • Supporting colleagues and maintaining high standards of work at all times.

Skills and Experience Needed:

  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience working with hydraulic systems.
  • Basic electrical fault-finding knowledge.
  • Experience carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on industrial or heavy machinery.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams and service documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • A full UK driving licence.
