Passive Fire Site Manager – School FRA Works (Temp)
Location: Essex (Basildon, Chelmsford & Surrounding Areas – Mobile Role)

The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Passive Fire Site Manager to pick up a well-structured summer contract delivering FRA remedial works across schools in Essex. The contract runs from 20th July through to end of August 2026, covering 3–4 school sites across Basildon, Chelmsford and the wider Essex area. This is a mobile role requiring someone who can hit the ground running and manage multiple sites independently throughout the summer holiday period. There is a possibility for on going work if satisfied with that innitial contract.
The Role
As Passive Fire Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of FRA passive fire works across multiple school sites in Essex. Works will cover fire stopping and fire door programmes, ensuring all installations are completed safely, compliantly and to programme within the school holiday window.
This is a fast-paced, mobile contract requiring strong organisation, independence and the ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day delivery of FRA passive fire works across 3–4 school sites in Essex
- Manage fire stopping and fire door works across Basildon, Chelmsford and surrounding areas
- Coordinate site activities across multiple locations to ensure works are delivered on time and to the required standard
- Manage operatives and subcontractors across live sites
- Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with passive fire compliance standards
- Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks and ensure full health and safety compliance
- Conduct quality inspections and checks of completed works throughout the programme
- Liaise professionally with school contacts and the client throughout the contract
- Maintain accurate site records, progress reports and compliance documentation
- Ensure all works are fully completed within the school holiday window
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within passive fire protection
- Strong technical knowledge of fire stopping and fire doors — essential
- Experience working within schools or similar safeguarding-sensitive environments — desirable
- Ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously across Essex
- SMSTS — required
- CSCS Card — required
- First Aid — required
- Full UK Driving Licence and own vehicle — required
- Asbestos Awareness — desirable
