Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established Main Contractor, working on a specialist facades, cladding and fire remediation project in Milton Keynes.

This is an immediate requirement for an initial 3–5 month contract, with the Senior Quantity Surveyor taking commercial responsibility for the project and working closely with the operational team to ensure effective cost control and commercial delivery.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:

• Commercial management of the project from a Main Contractor perspective.
• Managing subcontractor packages, valuations and payments.
• Procurement and negotiation of subcontract packages.
• Preparing and managing variations, applications and final accounts.
• Cost reporting, forecasting and maintaining accurate project financial information.
• Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
• Working closely with the Project and Site Management teams.
• Ensuring contractual obligations and commercial procedures are effectively managed throughout the project.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with:

• Strong Main Contractor or specialist contractor experience.
• Previous experience within facades, cladding, external envelope or fire remediation projects highly desirable.
• A strong understanding of subcontractor procurement and management.
• Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge.
• The ability to take ownership of a project and work with minimal supervision.
• Availability to start at short notice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established contractor on a specialist remediation project, with an immediate start and an anticipated contract duration of 3–5 months.
