French Accounting Manager in Reading, Berkshire

Orka Financial is recruiting a French Accounting Manager for a permanent, full-time opportunity based in Reading. The role offers hybrid working, a salary of £60,000–£70,000 plus benefits, and regular travel to Paris.

The opportunity

This is a broad leadership role for a qualified accountant who can bring structure, pace and sound judgement to a growing international finance operation. You will manage a team of around six while taking ownership of accurate reporting, compliance and the continued improvement of systems and controls.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the monthly management-accounts process and deliver clear, dependable financial information.

• Oversee core accounting activity across payables, receivables, payroll and the general ledger.

• Coordinate statutory reporting, audit and tax deadlines across more than one jurisdiction.

• Review balance-sheet reconciliations and strengthen financial-control procedures.

• Prepare budgets and cash-flow forecasts to support effective decision-making.

• Develop the finance team and build productive relationships with colleagues in the UK and France.

• Help improve finance processes and support the transition of ERP and accounting systems.

About you

• A qualified accountant with at least three years' post-qualification experience.

• Fluent in both French and English.

• Experienced in leading finance teams across international or multi-entity environments.

• Comfortable designing and operating robust controls and improving finance processes.

• A confident communicator with strong organisation, attention to detail and systems awareness.
