Salary: £29,344–£44,919

As a Secondary French Teacher, you will teach KS3 and KS4 students how to communicate clearly and confidently in a second language through structured lessons and consistent practice.

Key responsibilities
Teach French across KS3 and KS4
Develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills
Teach grammar and sentence structure clearly
Build vocabulary through repetition and application
Prepare students for GCSE exams
Track progress and support different ability levels
Maintain consistent classroom routines

The classroom environment
Lessons follow clear patterns
Students build confidence over time
Speaking becomes more natural
Behaviour is calm and focused

Skills and experience
Strong French language ability
Clear pronunciation and modelling skills
Experience teaching or strong subject knowledge
Good classroom management

What success looks like
Students speak more confidently
Accuracy improves over time
Participation increases
Progress is steady across all abilities

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with language degrees or experience abroad
