The Role:
As a WCA Functional Assessor, you’ll use your clinical experience to assess how a person's health conditions or disabilities affect their ability to carry out everyday activities and work-related tasks.
You’ll conduct structured assessments by telephone, video and face-to-face, review relevant medical information, apply your clinical reasoning and produce clear, evidence-based reports.
You won't be providing hands-on treatment or making diagnoses. Instead, you'll use the skills you've developed throughout your clinical career to build a detailed picture of an individual's functional ability.

- Carrying out clinical or functional assessments
- Taking a detailed clinical history
- Understanding how conditions affect an individual's day-to-day life

- Communicating with patients and asking appropriate questions
- Managing your own workload and caseload

Strong communication skills, clinical reasoning and the ability to produce clear written reports are important for the role.
