(Fully Remote) Senior Mechanical Engineer – Building Services in London

A building services consultancy is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team and lead mechanical design work across a range of projects.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can take mechanical packages from concept through to detailed design, coordinate effectively with other disciplines, and produce clear, buildable solutions.

The role

You’ll lead mechanical design from RIBA Stage 2 through to Stage 4, working across sectors such as residential, commercial, retail and mixed-use. You’ll coordinate designs in Revit and work with clients, architects, contractors and other engineering teams to keep projects moving.

Your work will include:

• Developing mechanical designs from RIBA Stage 2 concept through to Stage 4 technical design
• Designing and coordinating HVAC and ventilation systems
• Producing above-ground drainage designs
• Designing domestic hot and cold water services
• Carrying out calculations, equipment selection and system sizing
• Coordinating mechanical services in Revit and resolving clashes with other disciplines
• Preparing technical reports, specifications, schedules and tender information
• Reviewing designs and supporting the development of junior engineers

What we’re looking for

• At least 5 years’ experience in a UK building services or MEP consultancy
• Strong Revit experience, taking mechanical designs from RIBA Stage 2 through to Stage 4
• Practical HVAC and ventilation design experience
• Experience with above-ground drainage and domestic hot and cold water systems
• A relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a similar discipline
• Confidence managing mechanical packages and communicating with clients and project teams

Experience across more than one building sector would be an advantage. Support with professional development and chartership is available.
