Functional Skills Tutor - Liverpool

The Opportunity

Prospero Teaching is currently looking for Functional Skills Tutors to support learners across Liverpool through personalised 1:1 tuition.

You'll help students develop their English and Maths skills and work towards Functional Skills qualifications. Sessions will be designed around each learner's current level, allowing you to focus on closing gaps, improving confidence and developing practical skills.

Position Details

* Location: Liverpool
* Position: Functional Skills Tutor
* Hours: 5-15 hours per week
* Start Date: September 2026
* Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

* Experience delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths
* Previous teaching or tutoring experience
* Strong subject knowledge
* A flexible and encouraging approach to teaching

Experience supporting learners who have gaps in education or require additional educational support would be beneficial.

To be eligible, you must:

* Hold the Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
* Provide two professional references
