Fundraising & Events Coordinator
Ambitions Personnel
Organise events. Bring people together. Make a real difference.
We are currently recruiting for a Fundraising & Events Coordinator to join a well-established local organisation in Newark that makes a genuine difference to people and families in the local community.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who loves organising events, getting people involved and turning ideas into successful fundraising activities.
And this isn’t a role where you’ll simply be sitting behind a desk planning events. You’ll be involved in the whole journey — from coming up with ideas and getting people signed up, through to making sure everything runs smoothly on the day and seeing the money raised make a real difference.
What could you be organising?
Your events calendar will be varied, so no two weeks will look exactly the same.
You could be coordinating sponsored challenges, charity walks and runs, community fundraising events, seasonal campaigns, challenge activities, supporter events and fundraising initiatives with local businesses and community groups.
You might be:
- Organising a sponsored challenge and helping participants get involved and reach their fundraising targets.
- Coordinating a charity walk or run, from planning the route and logistics through to supporting participants on the day.
- Working with local businesses to arrange fundraising activities or corporate challenges.
- Helping community groups turn their fundraising ideas into successful events.
- Organising seasonal fundraising campaigns and activities to encourage people to get involved.
- Coordinating venues, suppliers, equipment, volunteers and event materials.
- Creating engaging ideas for new events that will attract supporters and generate income.
- Working with the marketing team to promote events through social media, email and other channels.
- Supporting participants before, during and after events to make sure they have a fantastic experience.
- Being there on the day of events to help everything run smoothly and deal with anything unexpected.
- Following up with supporters afterwards, thanking them and helping to build long-term relationships.
You’ll have plenty of opportunity to put your own ideas forward too. If you have spotted a great fundraising challenge, have an idea for a new community event or think there is a different way to engage local businesses, you’ll have the opportunity to make it happen.
The team
You’ll be part of a close-knit Fundraising & Marketing team of five, working alongside the Head of Fundraising, Marketing Director, Community Engagement Lead and other fundraising colleagues.
You’ll work closely with the wider team to make sure events are well promoted, attract plenty of participation and ultimately generate as much income as possible.
What we’re looking for
You don’t necessarily need previous charity fundraising experience.
This role could suit someone currently working in events, hospitality, marketing, community engagement, administration, project coordination or customer-facing roles who loves organising things and bringing people together.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Naturally organised and enjoys juggling different projects.
- Confident communicating with members of the public, volunteers, businesses and community groups.
- Creative and full of ideas.
- Comfortable coordinating lots of different moving parts.
- Proactive and happy to take ownership of events from start to finish.
- A great relationship builder who enjoys getting people excited and involved.
- Calm under pressure and able to think on their feet when things don’t go to plan.
- A strong team player who is also confident working independently.
- Passionate about making a positive difference.
Most importantly, you’ll need to be someone who enjoys making things happen. You’ll be dealing with people, organising activities, solving problems and creating experiences that encourage others to get behind an important cause.
