Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Furniture Assembly Operative to join a well-established mobility furniture company in Newton Abbot.

As a Furniture Assembly Operative, you will be responsible for assembling, checking and finishing metal and upholstered furniture using a range of hand and power tools.

• £12.71 per hour, increasing to £13.45 per hour after 12 weeks
• Monday-Thursday: 7:30am-4:30pm
• Friday: 7:30am-1:15pm
• Temporary-to-permanent opportunity

• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Ability to follow safety procedures and assembly instructions
• Good attention to detail
• Practical problem-solving skills, particularly when parts do not align correctly
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Good basic communication skills
• Previous furniture assembly or manufacturing experience would be advantageous

• Read and follow job sheets, assembly instructions and build diagrams
• Safely use cordless drills, screwdrivers, mallets and other hand and power tools
• Assemble and fit mechanical and electrical components, including recliner mechanisms
• Inspect finished products for quality, defects and correct assembly
• Ensure products meet the required quality standards
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment
• Follow all company health and safety procedures
