The role is full time working  Mon- Friday - 6.30am - 3pm

Job Title: Furniture Polisher


Job Summary:
Prepare, repairs, and finish wooden furniture to achieve a high-quality appearance.
The role involves using hand and power tools, applying stains and finishes, and ensuring all products meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sand, smooth, and prepare wooden furniture surfaces.
  • Apply stains, paints, lacquers and other finishing materials.
  • Polish furniture to achieve the required finish..
  • Repair scratches, dents, chips, and other surface imperfections.
  • Mix stains and finishes to match specified colours.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain polishing and finishing equipment safely.
  • Follow health and safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Keep the work area clean, organised, and free of hazards.
  • Work with production teams to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in furniture polishing, wood finishing or woodworking similar - ESSENTIAL
  • Knowledge of wood types, stains, varnishes, and finishing techniques.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
  • Good attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Ability to identify and repair surface defects.
  • Physical fitness to stand for long periods and lift furniture when required.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
Working Conditions:
  • Typically based in a furniture manufacturing facility,
  • May require standing for extended periods and handling heavy furniture.
  • Exposure to dust, paints, solvents, and finishing chemicals; appropriate PPE is required.
