Ganger / Banksman – Deep Excavation in Nottingham

Tec- Source are looking for a Ganger / Banksman – Deep Excavation for a project in Nottingham

• Proven experience supervising deep excavation and water-industry pipework teams.
• Experience organising labour, plant, materials and daily site activities.
• Competent in setting out pipework, chambers, line and level using lasers, optical levels and other surveying equipment.
• Able to read construction drawings, pipe schedules, utility plans and setting-out information.
• Knowledge of trench boxes, drag boxes, sheet-and-frame systems, hydraulic bracing and other excavation-support methods.
• Experience monitoring excavations for ground movement, water ingress, service conflicts and changing ground conditions.
• Experience installing ductile-iron and HDPE pipework, including push-fit, flanged, butt-fused and electrofused systems.
• Knowledge of valves, fittings, dismantling joints, flange adaptors, pipe restraints, bedding and backfilling.
• Experience coordinating excavator lifting operations and checking that lift plans and exclusion zones are followed.
• Current CPCS or NPORS Slinger/Signaller qualification.
• Current Plant and Vehicle Marshaller or recognised excavator-banksman qualification.
• Lifting Supervisor qualification where responsible for supervising lifting operations.
• SSSTS or equivalent supervisory health-and-safety qualification.
• Valid EUSR SHEA Water or appropriate CSCS-affiliated site-access qualification.
• EUSR National Water Hygiene registration where working on clean-water sites or networks.
• Training in excavation safety, underground services, temporary works awareness, manual handling and emergency procedures.
• First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid qualification preferred.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
