The Opportunity Are you an experienced Garden Maintenance Team Leader with strong plant knowledge and a passion for delivering high-quality garden care? Workshop Recruitment is looking for a skilled Garden Maintenance Team Leader to join a well-established landscaping business, maintaining a variety of prestigious gardens and grounds across Southern Hampshire, based in Botley, Southampton. The Garden Maintenance Team Leader role offers varied work throughout the year, working with both domestic and commercial clients while delivering professional garden aftercare and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction. The role is based around Botley, Southampton, so candidates should ideally live within a reasonable commuting distance of the area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and carry out professional garden maintenance work across a range of sites.
  • Identify plants and provide appropriate care and maintenance.
  • Complete pruning, shaping and general plant care.
  • Undertake soft landscaping and grounds maintenance duties.
  • Operate and maintain a range of garden machinery and equipment.
  • Complete risk assessments and follow onsite health and safety procedures.
  • Deliver consistently high standards of workmanship and customer service.
  • Support and develop other members of the maintenance team.

Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Previous experience in a Garden Maintenance Team Leader or similar role.
  • Strong plant knowledge and identification skills.
  • Experience in soft landscaping, pruning and plant care.
  • Good knowledge of garden machinery.
  • Understanding of risk assessments and onsite health and safety.
  • A positive, practical and professional ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Hard landscaping skills an advantage
  • Live in good travel distance of Botley, Southampton

Desirable

  • PA1/PA6 Spraying Certificates.
  • NPTC Chainsaw Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience working with domestic and commercial clients.
  • Knowledge of common garden pests and diseases.
