Gardener – Prestigious Private Members’ Club / Fulham, London / £35,000 Per Annum D.O.E.

The Hurlingham Club, situated in 42 acres of award-winning landscaped gardens and grounds adjacent to the River Thames in Fulham, and recognised as one of the world’s finest private member clubs is now looking for an experienced Gardener to join the team.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate gardener, with good horticultural knowledge of garden plants and sustainable practices. The successful applicant will be given their own area of responsibility to maintain and develop, working under the Head Gardener and Senior Gardener.

Key Responsibilities of the Gardener:

  • You will be expected to work on your own or with the team on a variety of garden projects,
  • Use your initiative to maintain the garden to a high standard
  • Enhance planting schemes utilising horticultural skills to benefit the gardens and wider grounds.
  • Safely use and operate a range of garden tools and machinery within a busy garden
  • Able to demonstrate good time management skills
  • Balance the demands of the areas alongside seasonal team tasks.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • You will embody our Club values; excellence, responsibility and courtesy.
  • Hold a valid RHS Level 2 or equivalent qualification (required), as well as previous practical experience in the industry.
  • A genuine passion for wildlife, biodiversity and environmentally sustainable practices in horticulture.
  • Have previous experience in tractor driving, operating small machinery and holding a PA1/PA6 spraying certificate is beneficial but not essential.
  • Have a proactive, flexible and hands on approach.
