Parkinson Gray Associates is recruiting for an experienced Gas Compliance Manager to join an established building services business operating across a varied commercial property portfolio.

This is a senior compliance-focused position with responsibility for ensuring gas-related works are undertaken safely, correctly and in accordance with current legislation, industry standards and company procedures.

The successful candidate is likely to come from a strong commercial gas background and will combine technical knowledge with the ability to oversee engineers, assess standards of work and maintain robust compliance processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee gas compliance across a portfolio of commercial sites and projects.
  • Ensure gas works are carried out in accordance with current legislation and recognised industry standards.
  • Monitor the competence and performance of directly employed engineers and specialist subcontractors.
  • Carry out or coordinate technical audits and inspections.
  • Maintain appropriate compliance records, certification and audit trails.
  • Review working practices and identify areas requiring corrective action or improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance to operational teams and engineers.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of gas-related technical or compliance issues.
  • Work closely with Health & Safety, operational and project teams.
  • Ensure remedial actions arising from audits or inspections are completed appropriately.
  • Keep up to date with changes to relevant gas regulations, standards and industry guidance.

The Successful Candidate

We would expect applicants to have:

  • A strong background in commercial gas installation, servicing or maintenance.
  • Detailed knowledge of gas safety requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Experience in a supervisory, compliance, technical management or auditing capacity.
  • Good understanding of commercial heating and associated mechanical building services.
  • Strong attention to detail and record keeping.
  • The confidence to challenge unsafe or non-compliant working practices.
  • Good communication skills when dealing with engineers, managers, subcontractors and clients.
  • Appropriate current gas qualifications and registrations relevant to the commercial environment.
  • Full UK driving licence.

This is a permanent position offering a salary up to £50,000, company van and benefits.
