We are seeking an experienced and reliable Gateman to join a busy commercial construction site in central Huddersfield.

As the main point of contact at the site entrance, you will play a crucial role in maintaining site security, controlling site access, and ensuring all vehicular and pedestrian traffic moves safely around the site boundary.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the main site entrance, signing in/out all visitors, sub-contractors, and site staff.
  • Safely guiding delivery vehicles, heavy plant, and construction traffic in and out of the site premises.
  • Checking delivery manifests and liaising with the site management team regarding incoming materials.
  • Maintaining a clear, safe, and organised perimeter around the site access gates, ensuring public pathways remain unobstructed.
  • Enforcing site security protocols, verifying CSCS cards, and ensuring full PPE is worn before entry.
  • Carrying out light gateman duties and general site support tasks as requested by the Site Manager.


What We Are Looking For:

  • CSCS Card (Essential).
  • Valid traffic marshall ticket.
  • Proven experience working as a Gateman or Traffic Marshall on commercial construction sites.
  • Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis jacket/vest, and steel toe cap boots).
  • A clear, confident communicator with a polite and professional manner when dealing with the public, delivery drivers, and site management.
  • Excellent punctuality and reliability.
  • Easily commutable to central Huddersfield.
