GCP Senior DevOps Consultant – London – Contract in London

We are looking for an experienced GCP Senior DevOps Consultant to join a major cloud technology programme in London.

The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience across Google Cloud Platform (GCP), GKE, Kubernetes and enterprise DevOps, with expertise in Infrastructure as Code, containerisation, CI/CD automation and cloud-native platform engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, automate and operate scalable cloud-native platforms on Google Cloud Platform
  • Manage and support GKE/Kubernetes clusters and workloads
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible
  • Develop automation using Python and Bash/Shell scripting
  • Build and maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, including scripted pipelines using Groovy
  • Manage containerised deployments using Docker, Kubernetes and Helm
  • Work with GCP services including GKE, MIGs, CloudSQL and Memorystore
  • Automate build, deployment, security scanning and tooling integrations
  • Troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure and deployment issues
  • Support monitoring and observability integrations using tools such as Datadog, Grafana and AppDynamics
  • Work across public and hybrid-cloud environments, including networking and firewall requirements

Essential Skills

  • Strong hands-on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience
  • GKE and Kubernetes
  • Docker and Helm
  • Terraform and Ansible
  • Jenkins CI/CD
  • Jenkins/Groovy pipeline experience
  • Python and Bash/Shell scripting
  • Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting
  • Git and branching strategies
  • DevSecOps and security scanning tools such as SonarQube, Checkmarx or container-scanning solutions
  • Enterprise networking and firewall knowledge

Desirable

  • GCP certification
  • CKA or CKAD
  • CloudSQL and Memorystore
  • Datadog, Grafana or AppDynamics
  • Nexus/GCR
  • SRE experience
  • Hybrid-cloud environments
  • Enterprise-scale DevOps experience
