Five Education is recruiting on behalf of a specialist Post-16 Alternative Provision in Knowle, Bristol.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to deliver GCSE English (1.5 days per week) and GCSE Maths (1.5 days per week) within a small and supportive Post-16 Alternative Provision.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a small cohort of learners, all of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The provision prides itself on offering personalised support, positive relationships, and a nurturing environment that enables young people to achieve their potential both academically and personally.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
Delivering engaging GCSE English and/or GCSE Maths lessons.
Planning and adapting lessons to meet a range of learning needs and abilities.
Supporting learners with SEND to access the curriculum and achieve their qualifications.
Creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Monitoring progress and contributing to educational reviews and target setting.
Working collaboratively with support staff and the wider team to maximise outcomes for learners.
About You
We welcome applications from teachers who:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Have experience teaching GCSE English and/or GCSE Maths.
Have experience supporting young people with SEND, SEMH needs, or within alternative provision settings.
Are able to build strong relationships and engage learners who may have experienced barriers to education.
Have a flexible, patient, and creative approach to teaching.
Are passionate about improving outcomes for young people with additional needs.

*Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.
