The Opportunity

Prospero Teaching is currently seeking GCSE English & Maths Tutors to work with secondary-aged learners across Halton.

The role involves delivering focused 1:1 tuition to students who may have gaps in their education or require additional support with their GCSE studies.

You'll be responsible for planning engaging sessions, identifying areas for development and helping learners build the subject knowledge and confidence required to progress.

Position Details

* Location: Halton
* Position: GCSE English & Maths Tutor
* Hours: 5-15 hours per week
* Start Date: September 2026
* Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications

We're looking for candidates with:

* Experience teaching GCSE English and/or Maths
* Strong knowledge of the relevant GCSE curriculum
* QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred)
* The ability to adapt lessons to suit individual learners

To be eligible, you must:

* Hold the Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
* Provide two professional child-related references
