Gearbox Technician

This role offers the opportunity to specialise in gearbox diagnostics, removal, and refit work within a state-of-the-art facility. The ideal Gearbox Technician will have demonstrable experience in gearbox work, a practical approach, and the ability to support general mechanical tasks.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary between £35,000 and £45,000, depending on experience
- Revenue-based monthly bonus of approximately £400, based on quality of work
- Monday to Friday working hours, 8am to 5pm, with a 45-minute lunch break

- Remove and refit gearboxes across various vehicle makes and models
- Perform diagnostic tests using industry-standard equipment to identify faults
- Support general mechanical tasks such as servicing, brakes, and other repairs
- Assist with gearbox stripping, rebuilding, and preventative maintenance
- Conduct test drives to verify repairs and quality standards
- Maintain high levels of workmanship, safety, and efficiency
- Support team members and contribute to a collaborative workshop environment as a Gearbox Technician
- Proven experience as a time-served mechanic with a focus on gearbox work
- Ability to confidently remove and refit gearboxes
- Own toolbox and diagnostic skills, including test-drive capabilities
- Practical, team-oriented mindset willing to undertake challenging gearbox tasks
- Local individuals preferred, ideally based around M25, M3, or A3 corridors
- No specific certifications required; gearbox rebuild experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided
