We are recruiting an experienced General Foreman to join a major energy infrastructure project in the North East of Scotland. This is a long-term opportunity supervising Foremen, Gangers, direct labour and subcontractors across a large-scale construction programme. This job provides accommodation.
The project includes major civil engineering works, earthworks, platforms, substations, converter Ready to take charge? Section Foreman required to lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors and drive safe, high-quality delivery across a major infrastructure project. infrastructure and associated facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Foremen, Gangers, direct labour and subcontractors across designated work areas.
- Take ownership of works, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality delivery.
- Input into Work Package Plans, Risk Assessments, Temporary Works and Task Briefings.
- Identify hazards and ensure safe systems of work are implemented.
- Monitor plant, operators and equipment to ensure safe and effective use.
- Carry out Safety, Environmental and Quality inspections.
- Monitor workmanship and promote a Right First Time culture.
- Report and manage non-conformances and quality issues.
- Contribute to weekly programmes, monitor KPIs and communicate targets to the workforce.
- Allocate labour, plant and materials effectively to maximise productivity.
- Monitor material usage and wastage, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain accurate daily records and validate labour and plant records.
- Monitor project scope, identify additional works and prevent scope creep.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and client representatives.
- Support Engineering teams with future setting-out requirements.
Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience as a General Foreman, Senior Foreman or similar within civil engineering/construction.
Experience managing Foremen, Gangers, direct labour and subcontractors.
Valid CSCS Card and current driving licence.
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work.
Experience in resource allocation, programme management and material scheduling.
Good understanding of specifications, construction tolerances, ITPs and contract documentation.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Knowledge of NEC contracts desirable.
Experience in earthworks, deep drainage and reinforced concrete highly desirable.
