General Foreman

Force Contracting Services are looking for an experienced General Foreman to join a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Kilmarnock.
The project is due to commence in mid-September 2026 and is expected to run for approximately 2 years.
The successful candidate will have a strong civil engineering background, relevant experience working on BESS sites, and be confident supervising site teams and coordinating construction activities.
Scope of Works:
- Enabling works
- Site preparation
- Earthworks
- Drainage
- Access roads
- Hardstanding
- Equipment foundations
- Fencing foundations
- Ducting and trenching
- Reinstatement
- All associated civil works required to provide a complete and operational BESS site
Responsibilities:
- Supervise site operatives and subcontractors, coordinating daily activities, labour, plant and materials.
- Work from drawings, specifications and RAMS, coordinating closely with Site Engineers and Site Management.
- Oversee civil works including earthworks, site preparation, drainage, ducting, roads, hardstanding, foundations and fencing.
- Monitor productivity, workmanship and site standards, reporting progress and issues to the Site Manager.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety and housekeeping, supporting snagging, reinstatement and completion works.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a General Foreman or Senior Foreman, with relevant experience working on BESS sites.
- Strong civil engineering background with experience supervising subcontractors and site teams.
- Good understanding of construction methods, sequencing and site operations.
- Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- SSSTS or SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid.
