General Foreman in Manchester, Greater Manchester

My client are a national civil engineering contractor who are currently seeking a General Foreman to help deliver tunnelling works on a major civil engineering project in Manchester. The successful candidate must have previous tunnelling experience and a strong background in heavy civils.

General Foreman Responsibilities:

• Supervising site teams and subcontractors.

• Managing day-to-day tunnelling activities.

• Coordinating labour, plant and materials.

• Ensuring works are delivered safely and to programme.

• Overseeing site operations and monitoring productivity.

• Delivering toolbox talks and maintaining health and safety standards.

• Liaising with Site Management and engineering teams.

• Ensuring work is completed to the required quality standards.

General Foreman Requirements:

• Gold CSCS card.

• SSSTS or SMSTS.

• Previous experience as a General Foreman or Foreman on tunnelling projects.

• Strong understanding of tunnelling operations and underground civils.

• Experience managing site teams and subcontractors.

• Good understanding of RAMS and health and safety procedures.

• Strong communication and leadership skills.

• Full UK driving licence.
