Hatched Recruitment Group is recruiting a General Operative to join Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council's Waste Management & Operations team, based at the Blaris depot. You'll help keep streets and public spaces across the council area clean, safe and tidy.
What you'll be doing:
- Street sweeping and litter picking in town centres, residential areas and open spaces
- Emptying litter bins and clearing fly-tipping and waste
- Supporting mechanical sweepers and street cleansing crews
- Using equipment safely, such as brushes, shovels, leaf blowers and power washers
- Helping with seasonal work such as leaf clearance and winter gritting
- Wearing the correct PPE and following safe working practices
- Reporting problems such as damaged bins, vandalism or hazards
What you'll need:
- Experience of general operative, labouring, cleansing, refuse or other outdoor manual work
- Good health and safety awareness, including correct use of PPE and safe manual handling
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- A reliable, hardworking approach and the ability to work as part of a team
- A polite, helpful manner when dealing with the public
A driving licence would be an advantage.
