General Operative (NG Person - Substation)

Location: Kings Ave Site, 157 Acre Lane, London, SW2 5UA

Rate: £18.35 per hour - PAYE only

Hours: 07:30 - 18:00

Duration: 40 Days (10/08/26 - 18/09/26)

A leading power & utilities contractor is seeking an NG General Operative (NG Person - Substation) to support emergency works at an LPT2 National Grid site in London. You will assist site teams working within a live substation environment and help ensure safe, compliant delivery of critical activities.



Duties

  • Support teams working inside a live National Grid substation.

  • Assist with general labouring and operational tasks.

  • Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and plant operators.

  • Support safe lifting and material‑handling operations.

  • Maintain clean, organised, and compliant work areas.

  • Follow National Grid safety rules and site procedures.

  • Carry out tasks as directed to support emergency/reactive works.




Required Qualifications & Cards

  • NG Person - Substation

  • EUSR Utility SHEA Power

  • Manual Handling

  • Emergency First Aid at Work

  • Plant & Vehicle Marshal (PVM)

  • Slinger Signaller

  • COSHH Awareness

  • Fire Safety Awareness
