About the Role
Clarence Recruitment is delighted to be working with a respected secondary school in Leicester who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join their Humanities team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inspiring students to understand the world around them and develop a curiosity about people, places, and the environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering high-quality Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach additional Humanities subjects for the right candidate.
You will join a supportive and forward-thinking department that encourages creativity, collaboration, and a commitment to helping every student achieve their potential.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and well-planned Geography lessons that encourage curiosity and independent thinking.
  • Teach a range of geographical topics, including physical and human geography, environmental issues, and global development.
  • Develop students' analytical, research, and fieldwork skills.
  • Inspire learners to understand current global challenges and the relationship between people and the environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback to support achievement.
  • Create a positive classroom environment where students feel motivated and confident.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and the continued improvement of the Humanities department.
  • Support students in achieving strong outcomes through effective teaching and assessment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share ideas and best practice.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Have experience teaching Geography within a secondary school setting.
  • Possess excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Geography.
  • Be able to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Have high expectations for student progress, behaviour, and achievement.
  • Be committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
