Are you a Geotechnical Engineer looking to work on complex infrastructure projects that make a real difference to the UK's sustainable future?

We are seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineer with 2-5 years' experience to join a growing team in Basingstoke. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a talented environmental consultancy delivering innovative geotechnical solutions across major rail and infrastructure projects nationwide.

Working alongside experienced geotechnical, geoenvironmental, and environmental specialists, you will play a key role in the design, analysis, and delivery of projects that support sustainable development and the transition to greener transport networks.

The Role

As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be involved in a broad range of technical and project delivery activities, including:

  • Geotechnical design and assessment for rail and infrastructure projects
  • Numerical modelling and analysis using PLAXIS 2D
  • Interpretation of ground investigation data and preparation of geotechnical reports
  • Slope stability, retaining structure, embankment, and foundation assessments
  • Supporting project management and client liaison activities
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary environmental and engineering teams
  • Site visits and technical supervision where required
  • Contributing to sustainable engineering solutions and best-practice design approaches

Requirements

  • Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline
  • 2-5 years' relevant consultancy experience
  • Experience working on rail or infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency with PLAXIS 2D
  • Strong understanding of UK geotechnical design standards and ground investigation practices
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
