The Role
 
As the Goods Inwards & Inspector Assistant you will be responsible in assisting with the quality of our clients products and reporting any discrepancies to managers and logging it on the ERP system. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate with the relevant skills and experience to enhance and develop their career further within an internationally strong manufacturing company.
 
Salary - Dependent upon experience 
 
Hours - 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday with half an hour lunch break - Total hours 37.50 per week. 
 
Duties Include:
 
  • Booking in deliveries from suppliers, checking that the information matches the purchase order.
  • Assisting in off-loading delivered goods and carrying out the initial checks to ensure the quantity, description and quality match the delivery note and purchase order.
  • Logging the delivery into the ERP system in real time.
  • Assisting in the inspection of goods delivered using drawings, purchase order descriptions, specifications and supplementary documentation.
  • Sorting and segregating components to aid identification and efficient packing.
  • Supporting the goods inwards and inspection controller in delivering inspection results.
  • Checking the shelf life of some materials and ensuring good stock rotation when moving stock.
  • Transferring stock between locations, both physically and on the ERP system.
  • Assisting with the process of rejecting non-conforming goods within the ERP system and ensuring they are isolated from general use and suitably labelled.
  • Following the supplier quality concern process, informing procurement and preparing goods for collection if necessary.
  • Assisting with calibration checks and control of withdrawal/replacement of calibrated equipment.
  • Ensuring any health and safety concerns are reported to the goods inwards inspection controller or procurement manager immediately.
  • Keeping the goods in office, inspection areas and equipment tidy and safe at all times.
  • Assisting in business improvement projects where necessary.
  • To carry out any other duties that may reasonably be requested giving due regard to your existing status.
Candidate Attributes:
 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good administrative skills and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • IT literate.
  • Ability to work using your initiative to a high standard with excellent attention to detail whilst meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with stock rotation and organising stock appropriately.
  • Ideally some experience within the goods in environment, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety within a manufacturing environment.
