Job Title: Governance and Compliance Manager
Location: London or Whitstable

Role Overview
The Governance and Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all
account activities operate in line with the clients governance and control
requirements, and internal policies, regulatory obligations, legal requirements and industry best practice. The role provides leadership in governance, assurance, compliance and continuous improvement, ensuring robust controls are embedded across all retail project delivery activities.
 
Governance and Compliance
 Partner with the Key Account Manager to implement governance, compliance
and process improvements across the account.
 Ensure all projects comply with the governance set out in the frameworks;
controls, assurance requirements and audit standards.
 Monitor compliance with clients policies, organisational procedures and
regulatory requirements.
 Conduct risk assessments, identify compliance gaps and coordinate
mitigation actions.
 Develop, maintain and continuously improve policies, procedures and control
mechanisms.
 Ensure all project documentation is submitted through the appropriate
governance channels and meets required standards.
 Maintain compliance with the clients Electronic Data Management System
requirements by ensuring all files are named consistently and in accordance
with governance standards.
 Ensure project teams adhere to the processes and policies outlined within the PPTM framework.
 Update The Key Event Schedule and Smartsheets to ensure that all key
project milestones are up to date.
 Manage and monitor submissions and key milestones. Raising change
control for any key milestone changes.
 Manage and adhere to client process via SmartSheets Platform including,
Start on Site Readiness Reports, Gateway Checklists, Change Control,
Material Change, Risk Registers and CSQs.
 Raising contractual documentation for execution on Docusign including PC
Certificates.
 
Project Assurance and Quality Control
 Oversee governance and assurance activities across the delivery of retail
projects.
 Manage quality control reviews of CP Packs, ensuring consistency, accuracy
and compliance.
 Monitor project milestones and governance submissions to ensure audit
readiness.
 Coordinate internal and external audits, including Deep Dive Reviews, Pack
Audits and HSQE Audits.
 Lead remediation activities arising from audit findings and compliance reviews
 Respond efficiently to Gateway and EDMS applicable checks.
 
Performance and Resource Management
 Analyse KPIs, identify trends and implement improvement initiatives to
enhance performance.
 Conduct weekly resource reviews to forecast workload demands and
proactively manage capacity 2-3 weeks in advance.
 Develop monitoring mechanisms to improve visibility of outputs, risks and
delivery performance.
  
Training and Continuous Improvement
 Deliver governance and compliance training for new team members.
 Drive awareness of governance requirements and accountability across the
team.
 Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality
and compliance.
 Use AI and automation tools to improve team effectiveness, productivity and
reporting capabilities.
