Salary: £15-16.40phr + holiday pay
3-month contract with possibility of extension
35 hour week
Hybrid 1 day + on site in Warrington

Are you an organised and detail-oriented professional with experience supporting governance activities within the housing sector or wider public sector?
We are seeking a Compliance Officer to join the team and play a key role in supporting governance, compliance, and board administration activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with governance experience from a housing association, local authority, NHS, education, or other public sector organisation who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive and professional environment.

The Role As Compliance Officer, you will provide essential governance and board support, ensuring meetings are effectively coordinated, and governance processes are maintained to a high standard. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, board members, and executives to ensure compliance with governance frameworks and organisational policies.

Key Responsibilities Provide administrative and governance support to Board and Committee meetings. Organise meeting schedules, prepare agendas, compile board packs, and distribute documentation. Attend meetings and accurately record minutes and actions. Maintain governance records, registers, and supporting documentation. Monitor compliance with governance policies, procedures, and statutory requirements. Track actions arising from meetings and ensure timely completion. Support the preparation of governance reports and regulatory submissions. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication across the organisation. Assist with policy reviews and governance improvement initiatives.

About You Previous governance, compliance, or board support experience. Experience within social housing is desirable but not essential. Candidates from the wider public sector, including local government, NHS, education, or other regulated environments, are encouraged to apply. Experience organising meetings, preparing agendas, and taking accurate minutes. Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
